Travelling around Stevenage
The hotel is easily accessible by plane, train, bus or car. Travellers flying into Stevenage can get to us via London Luton Airport which is our nearest airport (10 miles west of Stevenage, accessible by the A505 via Hitchin or bus 101) or London Stansted Airport(about 30 miles to the east of Stevenage, accessible by buses 700 and 777).
If travelling by train there is a railway station in the centre of Stevenage which is a main line station served by the East Coast King's Cross Main Line, which is the main Edinburgh to London railway line in the UK
If coming by car, the A1 motorway is the most common road used to get into the town which runs along the western border of the town.
Travelling around Stevenage, and to railway stations and the airport has never been easier. Parking is relatively easy too, as there are numerous pay and display areas, especially in the city centre. You may even be lucky to find a free parking spot on the street or at a free two-hour car park.
If you don’t have a car, the two preferred ways of getting around are either by bus or taxi. Walking around the city is easy too, especially since the city centre is fairly compact. The two major bus lines are Arriva (www.arriva.co.uk) and Centrebus St Albans.
Taxis (01438 357 111) are also easy to find, but they are more expensive than hopping on a bus.
Cycling is made very easy around Stevenage by the excellent Cycle Path Network. As well as lots of cycle paths there are footpaths everywhere and many pedestrianised streets.
